All entrants to the Photography Foundation Awards should take their time to review the FAQ below and the full terms to entering the awards. If you have any problems or further questions please get in touch.
General FAQ:

The Photography Foundation Awards are run and managed by The Photography Foundation Charity, a registered charity in England & Wales. The awards are a fundraising project for the charity with all entry fees considered donations to the charity and help to support the important work that the charity completes.

The submission or entry fees are used to pay for the costs associated with the running of the competition, with all surplus fees being used as donations to support the overheads of The Photography Foundation charity, based in the UK.

Yes, everyone entering the Awards are entitled to one free submission to the competition. Every submission thereafter will cost a fee, and the more images you submit, the better chance you have to win.

No, you may submit as many entires, in as many categories, as you wish. The more you enter, the more chance you have to win.

Yes, absolutely. The Awards are open to both professionals and amateurs, there are no barriers to entry. In fact, many of the previous winners have come from amateur photographers whose work we find to be of extremely high quality.

Entry to the Photography Foundation Awards is really easy. Head over to the Entry page (2024 Awards button in the header) and start your entry process. You will be guided through a series of pages allowing for the upload of images and entry fee payments. If you have any questions, please do get in touch.

No, you may submit as many entires, in as many categories, as you wish. The more you enter, the more chance you have to win.

Your image submissions must have been taken during 2024.

No, after payment has been made, entries cannot be altered. Please review your work carefully before finalising payment.

Once the submission period closes, the Photography Foundation Awards will review all submitted images with the help from some of the judges on the panel, who will produce a shortlist of images for each category.
The global panel of judges will then review and vote on the shortlisted images for each category. Judging is completely independent and anonymous. All entrant’s personal information is removed from the images and captions to prevent any bias or conflict of interest. Independence in the voting and judging process is critical to the awards and competition.
Following the judges review and voting period, the winners will be announced and the awards will be completed.

Your images will never used for any purpose other than the promotion of the Photography Foundation Awards, the judging process and The Photography Foundation. By submitting your image you agree for us to use them freely on our social media channels and website. We will never sell, licence or allow any third parties access to the images. More on this is included in the Terms of Entry.

Yes, all photographers keep 100% of copyright.

One of the great things about this Awards is its global reach. Depending on what your image is chosen for, your image will be viewed with your full credit all around the world. This will mainly be through our social media channels and website, but will also include any print projects and in-person exhibitions. The destination and promotion of your work and images is potentially endless

All winning images will be published on The Photography Foundation owned assets and platforms, such as the website and social media channels. We will be working with other publishers and media outlets to get the winning images published to an even wider audience, which will always be with prior consent of the photographer.
